Project Search and DVR funds to Increase

In October Govenor Walker announced an additional $4 million dollars in state funds for Vocational Rehabilitation funds.  “Our youth with disabilities have a wealth of talent they can contribute to the workforce and the community,” Governor Walker said. (Office of the Govenor Press Release)

Under Governor Walker’s Blueprint for Prosperity, the state will expand Project SEARCH, a program helping young people with disabilities transition from high school to the workplace.  The expansion would increase the number of participating businesses by 20, up from seven, over the next three years.  “As Governor Walker has said, these are people with abilities, with skills, and with knowledge that can add value to an organization, as they gain their independence through employment," Secretary Newson said.   (Office of the Govenor Press Release)
